The day when unicorns are born
It's all been leading up to this. At this point, you've overcome every obstacle along the way, you've fine-tuned your product, and you're ready to take your startup to the next level. Brace yourself – Pitch Day is the day you present your startup to investors and our business partners.
Pitch Day in a nutshell
- With the help of your co-pilot, you'll craft your pitch. After months of incubation, you should feel confident about your product, your team, and your plans for future growth at this point.
- You'll pitch to potential investors right at UP21. Presenting in a familiar environment often provides founders with a much needed confidence boost.
- Bring on the negotiations! Once you have an investor's interest, move on to the next stage, which is 1-on-1 meetings where all necessary details are discussed. Your co-pilot is still with you, of course.
As the name suggests, STAR*21 works in close cooperation with UP21. It's a venture capital fund whose resources enable innovators, founders, and newly launched projects to reach their otherwise unattainable goals. The fund's qualified investors, led by the mathematician, visionary, and author of the D21 voting system, Karel Janeček, aim to strategically invest their time, energy, skills and money to elevate a portfolio of startups recruited from the UP21 incubator and elsewhere.
"When it comes to the relationship between investors and founders, both sides are in it for the long run. This is why startups should perceive their investor as a person who needs to be kept informed on a long-term basis about product and business development, not when they need an external source of money, knowledge, and contacts."
